Simple and Elegant
Microsoft officially launched the Windows 8. Thousands of software developers gathered at the annual conference at the company headquarters in Anaheim, California.
The software giant has announced that new windows are designed to “change the world of computing,” and does not resemble Windows of which users are accustomed to. Windows 8 has a brand new visual interface, optimized for “Touch screen” on mobile devices such as iPad and similar ‘tablet’ computers.
The result is a computer that works as a kind of hybrid PC and the media ‘pill’ with all functions of a standard PC operating system.
Windows 8 is designed to be used primarily to touch, but equally at home with the mouse and keyboard.
Changes cannot come fast enough for Microsoft because Apple’s iPad cuts deep in sales of personal computers, ringing the warning bells for companies like Microsoft that are reliant on the purchase of new personal computers. Windows 7, which is in the market for two years, only recently replaced the old Microsoft Windows XP for many users.
Examination of Windows 8 reveals refinement with simplicity and the user interface is somewhat similar to mobile operating systems of Microsoft. The change will mark the largest visual redesign of Windows in the past few decades.
Windows 8 actually uses less memory than Windows 7. Efficiency is extremely important to customers, who openly rejected the system of Windows Vista due to its heaviness. Lightweight operating system is even more important for a customer now and this is the reason why tablets are gaining popularity.
Microsoft has not set a date when Windows 8 will come on the market, but it is expected that sales of the new operating system could begin by 2012.
